What are your shipping methods?
All our meat products are shipped fresh via FedEx Priority Overnight service. Non-perishable items, merchandise, and gift certificates are shipped via FedEx Express Saver, which delivers within three days. For more information on our shipping policies, click here.
How will my order be packed?
Our meat is shipped fresh, never frozen, in vacuum-sealed packages. Your order will be hand-packed in a Styrofoam cooler with frozen gel packs. (We do not use dry ice.) The cooler is then put into a corrugated Lobel's shipping box. Our products are packed to withstand up to 48 hours of unrefrigerated shipping.
What does shipping cost?
The following rate schedule applies to the total product cost of all orders that include meat products.

Why do you use flat-rate shipping?
Generally speaking, we feel our flat-rate pricing structure for shipping charges is a benefit and a real cost savings to the vast majority of our customers.
By comparison, many companies charge for shipping by weight and distance—the more you buy and the farther away you are from the merchant's shipping facilities, the more you pay for shipping.
We simply base our shipping costs on the value of the order, regardless of how much it weighs or how far it has to go.
So at one end of the spectrum, our shipping costs may seem disproportionate for small orders. At the other end of the spectrum, however, customers who place large orders—even average size orders—get a fabulous deal on shipping costs.
And to be honest, we do have customers who place small orders without objection to our shipping charges because they know there is no substitute for Lobel's quality.
Here's an example that will shed some light on the value of how we've structured our shipping costs.
Average Lobel's of New York order: $250.00
Median weight of an average order: 12 lbs. total (including product, gel packs, etc.)
Shipping service: FedEx Priority Overnight
Lobel's shipping charge: $32.95
Estimated actual rates for this same package:
FedEx Priority Overnight to New York City: $52.93
FedEx Priority Overnight Los Angeles: $98.35
What days do you deliver?
You can take delivery Tuesdays through Saturdays. There is an additional $10 charge for Saturday deliveries. There are also shipping restrictions around certain holidays. Check our What's New page for a current list of holiday ordering deadlines and holiday shipping dates.
How do I track the shipment of an order?
When we ship your order, we send you an automatically generated email including your tracking number. Go to FedEx.com to track the progress of your package.
If you do not receive an email containing your tracking number, it's possible that we don't have your correct email address in our system. You can ensure you get such emails by making sure your Lobel's account is up to date.
You can also call our 24-hour customer service center toll-free at 1-877-783-4512 and a representative will be happy to look up your tracking number, inform you of your package's progress, and update your account information for you if you wish.
I won't be home when FedEx delivers. Will they leave the package?
We keep a signature waiver on file with FedEx so that they will always leave your package at your shipping address, even if someone is not home to sign for it. This ensures that FedEx does not "hold" your perishable meat products. Our products are packed to withstand up to 48 hours of unrefrigerated shipping. For more information on this, see our FAQ on storing meat.
If you know ahead of time that you won't be home to receive the package and you have special instructions for FedEx (such as "leave by garage door" or "leave on side porch") please include those instructions in the "Special Instructions" portion of the Order Summary screen during checkout.
