If Nathan Lobel were alive today, he´d be delighted
at the loyal clientele his business has attracted since its founding
in Austria in 1840. Nathan´s grandson Morris Lobel operated a butcher shop
on New York´s Upper West Side beginning in 1911. He and his wife moved
the shop to the Upper East Side in 1954.
The Upper East Side shop first gained a following
among neighborhood residents. Over the years, a growing number
of celebrities, successful business executives and prominent New
Yorkers also became regular patrons of the shop. Today, Lobel's continues
to attract a wide spectrum of customers -- from neighbors and visitors,
to the stars and statespeople of the world.
Television appearances, press coverage, and
the Internet offer the Lobels new opportunities to offer the best
meat and good advice to customers everywhere.
We hope you´ll enjoy looking at a selection of our guest
appearances and recent reviews.
