Mark's Meat Loaf Burger

< Return to recipes

Mark Lobel really wanted to have his favorite meat loaf for dinner one summer night—but it was just too hot to be baking in the kitchen. This sparked a brilliant idea to combine his meat loaf and the grill. The result was an incredible savory meat loaf burger topped with cheese—on a bun! Mark's creation was so tasty, we even put it on the menu at our Yankee Stadium concession stands! It's one of the popular new items this season. We top it with crispy fried onions and serve it on a buttery brioche bun.

Directions

Break up the ground beef into a large mixing bowl.
Add peppers, onion, breadcrumbs, egg, and Lobel’s Savory Seasoning. Mix with a light hand to combine all ingredients evenly. Do not overwork the mixture.
Form into 8 patties. Refrigerate until ready to grill.
Prepare a charcoal or gas grill. Lightly spray the grill rack with vegetable oil cooking spray. The coals should be hot.
Grill the burgers for about 5 minutes. Turn and grill for 4 or 5 minutes longer for medium-well burgers.
Top with Lobel’s BBQ Sauce or Lobel's Steak Sauce.
