Filet Mignon with Blue Cheese Topping

< Return to recipes

Filet mignon is one of the most popular steaks for grilling. The small, thick steaks--perfect for individual servings--are soft and tender, which is appealing to grill cooks. But filet mignon is not always as robustly flavorful as other steaks. Therefore, we think it's important to rub it with olive oil, salt, and pepper before grilling to enhance the flavor. You can even add Lobel's All-Purpose Savory Seasoning for an extra kick!  Here, we serve each one with a creamy blue cheese topping, too.

Directions

Combine topping ingredients in a small bowl. Rub filets with garlic, salt, pepper, olive oil, and savory seasoning, if desired.
Place steaks on grill over medium, ash-covered coals. Grill, covered, 10 to 14 minutes for medium-rare (145°F) to medium (160°F) doneness, turning occasionally. One minute before steaks are done, top evenly with topping.
Remove steaks to a platter and let the meat rest for a few minutes before serving. Sprinkle with parsley before serving.
