DETAILS

Can’t decide between the convenience of a boneless rib roast and the added flavor of a bone-in roast? Now you can have the best of both worlds by ordering our boned and tied rib roast. We start with our bone-in roast, remove the rib bones for you and then retie them onto the roast. After roasting, simply cut the strings, set the bones aside and enjoy the easiest carving imaginable. Keep in mind that the diameter of the eye can vary from animal to animal which will affect the size of the final cut. For this reason, we sell our rib roasts by weight, not by number of bones.

7 Rib WonderPurchased the Dry Aged 7 rib roast tied. Ok packaging was great. Received it and untied the roast for seasoning all over and then retied the roast and vaccummed sealed to let sit in refrig for two days. Then let it rest for a couple of hours before putting on the smoker. Smoked it for 4 hours at 215. Internal temp of 145, rested for 45-60 minutes. Ok Ok enough of the fine details. It was sooo good, moist and tender. Great cut of meat. I didn't have to good thru all the measure that I did but the outcome was amazing. The scary part was the waiting and anticipation of the final product. Was definately a hit and is talked about today. have doine it for Xmas and New Years and will continue to order. Thanks Lobels!!

Consistently the BestBetter prime rib than the best restaurants. Always consistently the same over the years. It is unfortunate when I see a review criticizing the tenderness, or stringiness of this roast due to improper cooking. All they did was ruin a very expensive roast probably cooking it too hot. Personally, I always cook beef roast using the cook and hold method as many fine restaurants cook them. I can cook a cheap supermarket choice prime rib to a perfect medium rare and it still cuts like butter. The difference is the taste. It is worth every penny.

The hero of the dinner This roast was the hero of my annual Christmas dinner. Used a nice herb crusted rub. People raved about the meat. Expensive? Sure...but for special occasions Lobel\s is my go-to butcher.

Only Average This year Not sure why but not as good this year. Arrived leaking not sure why packaging was not sealed as it normally is. Perhaps that is why the Prime Rib was not as exceptional as normal. Disappointed in quality/flavor at this price point particularly since this has never been the case in the past 7 years.

Rib roast for Xmas dinner 2017 This rib roast was very similar to a rib eye steak eaten about 10 days later. Both had very good taste but not exceptional and both were chewy throughout. Not what I’m accustomed to getting from Lobels in the past (which was exceptional bold flavor and meat that literally cut like butter). A 7# roast for $320 should meet these expectations every time.
